“Farm // Form // Frame”

Farm to Form to Frame is a multigenerational straw-insulated housing development located in Port Austin, Michigan for aging populations, families, and climate refugees. A mixed-use micro-village is designed to create housing for diverse family dynamics, with access to local produce in pursuit of establishing a dense, walkable living zone. The housing is comprised of unique interlocking split level units made of structural straw-insulated panels to incorporate the farm to form building of an agricultural area. Orchards & gardens with native plants are designed alongside the housing and blend into the rural landscape.
