"Bricks and Gravel"
This is a collection of simple building practices that act not as a solution, but as a proposition. Architecture must not be the statement of a talented author, rather, the understanding of place and the people who live there. Through a limited palette and modest intentions, the project seeks to build up resilience brick-by-brick and word-by-word. By doing so, the kids of Benton Harbor find resilience through feeling their bike slow as it enters the gravel, and entering a poetry of built space.
