“Adaptive Homesteading”

This approach to reshape the urban landscape prioritizes water and food by superimposing the land with sweeping rows of agriculture and directing rainfall through the built masses on site. The water is then collected in troughs which then supply the wheeled line irrigation system. Circulation through thoroughfares beneath the water collection troughs as well as ramping that follows the sweeping agricultural rows. Subtracted volumes allow for the wheeled irrigation sprinklers to move along guided tracks. The prioritizing of food and water repositions how structures are situated and interact with how we circulate through our built environment.
