“Strike Housing”

Strikes usually end because the workers cannot afford their livings during strikes. Strike housing proposes a worker community that fosters and supports strikes by caring of workers on strike and advertising ongoing strikes. The existing residential buildings are modified as temporary shared houses for worker families on strike. Permanent single-family houses for labor union members are arranged near temporary houses. In such a way, they may provide help and care for on-strike workers’ families. To advertise ongoing strikes, a series of public programs are established along the street. In between, a corridor meanders around the whole community, joining people together.
