Manta is a groundbreaking system that revolutionizes the process of fabricating free-form surfaces. Our primary focus was the investigation of bed usage in printing doubly curved clay panels, and we’re proud to say that our research has achieved remarkable results. The development process of the Manta bed was an intricate and sophisticated one. We had to create two main systems that could coexist and work together flawlessly: a printing surface and a grid of linear actuators. This required a delicate balance between form and function.
