STUDIO THEME
“Connecting the City v1.0”
Connecting the City is a design research studio being taught in the Urban Technology program at the University of Michigan. Students learn to read the physical world as digital data, to inscribe that reading into data structures, and to structure the values that will inform a new reading of the world.
Projects collectively point to what a grassroots-driven platforming of the city might look like when it starts with the questions asked by people inspired to quietly improve the quotidian everyday.
