This project reframes the working of both wood and the woods as an act of reading the forest. The premise of sawing into trees as an act of reading was explored through a series of exploratory drodels and refined through methods of printmaking. The work culminated in a proposal for a center which fostered the holistic working of the forest from tree to board. By grounding the visitors in place and time through hands-on experience with the forest, the center aims to foster wellness through a tangible connection to the local environment.
