As human development increases, regard for natural environments has resulted in the rise of artificially manufactured landscapes, including parks and trails. The H&TSC, not necessarily implying or solving any issues with these conditions, highlights the duality of the relationship between humans and nature by being a two-faceted facility supporting the wellness of both humans and the natural environment. Its public-facing program offers various services and spaces to make nature more accessible (changing rooms, showers, forest therapy, equipment rental, etc). Its non-public program is a warehouse for trail materials and a workshop for discussing maintenance of existing trails, design of new trails, and other daily tasks.
