“A Mile in Boston Harbor”

Boston's 'Great Cove,' enriched with heritage buildings, faces threats from rising sea levels, pushing these sites beyond saving. The challenge of climate change stirs fear, resisting the new normal. We propose embracing this entropic shift, allowing natural decay while extending usage through climate-resilient designs. The changes are a part of the site’s ongoing narrative and as buildings become an accomplice of nature, they provide outcomes beyond comprehension that active maintenance cannot create. It's not surrender but embracing uncertainty, with layers of deposition, biodiversity, and evolving conditions celebrated as beneficial, navigating an orderly transition of decay.
