"Zoetrope Theater"

The Zoetrope Theater combines elements of a historical motion picture device and the idea of an elevated occupiable marquee to create a multi-sensory movie theater experience for children. The core element of the building is the occupiable marquee that holds almost all amenities, is the main circulation level of the building, houses almost all theaters, and provides weather protection for the ground floor. The theater provides the same movie at multiple different viewing scales and options, whether that be on a large outdoor screen, in a small dark enclosure, or in the background of a play area. Ultimately, this cinema provides children the opportunity to choose their own experiences based on their current needs.
