As we navigate the pace of modern life, the need for spaces of restoration, both for individuals and communities, becomes increasingly critical. It is with this understanding the design proposes a performance and art theater for Ann Arbor – a sanctuary that fosters enchantment, serenity, silence, intimacy, and amazement. Its unconventional mysterious form gestures exploration, a catalyst for self-expression through the act of getting lost and rediscovering oneself within the space. The design plays with the dichotomy of performer and audience, blurring the lines and creating a dynamic interplay. The interstitial space becomes the stage, where both parties converge. The separation between observer and performer vanishes, replaced by the possibility of spontaneous performance, a flash mob of creativity erupting within the very fabric of the building.
